Description
The Departments of Psychiatry & Family Medicine and the School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Rochester, are recruiting a doctorally-prepared psychologist and medical educator. This faculty position is headquartered in the Department of Psychiatry, in the Division of Collaborative Care & Wellness; the faculty member will work closely with colleagues in Family Medicine and in the School of Medicine & Dentistry’s undergraduate medical education. The faculty member will have clinical responsibilities, including direct clinical service and supervision, educational and research time.
Responsibilities for this position specifically include: providing direct clinical service to underserved patients through Strong Family Therapy Services at Highland Family Medicine and providing supervision to a fellow in this clinical context. The faculty member will also be responsible for implementation of a psychosocial curriculum with residents and other learners in this interprofessional environment; the faculty member will work closely with other expert faculty.
The ideal faculty member will have experience as a medical educator and coach. The role will include providing one-to-one coaching and group didactics to medical students regarding team-building, communication behaviors, professionalism and well-being. In this role, the faculty member will be responsible for implementation of an internal coaching framework and development of additional content in collaboration with the School of Medicine & Dentistry undergraduate medical education leadership.
Based on demonstration, the faculty member may also qualify for protected time to develop research and scholarship in areas of his/her interest that may address topics related to clinical service delivery, medical education, and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Interested applicants should have earned a PhD or PsyD in clinical, counseling, health, or family psychology from an accredited training program, as well as have demonstrated experience in medical education. Ideal, candidates will also have clinical/supervisory skills and experience in integrated care (primary and/or specialty care), as well as experience working in academic medicine. Compensation includes an excellent, nationally competitive base salary, with bonus/moonlighting opportunities, loan forgiveness program, annual CME allotment, and generous benefits package through the University, including retirement program and tuition benefits.

Qualifications
PhD or PsyD in clinical, counseling, health or family psychology
Experience in medical education
Experience in clinical integrated care

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
