GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Vice President, Division Chief Data Analytics & Performance Improvement Officer provides executive leadership to advance division performance and influence through thought leadership in the use of data. This role partners with division leadership, IT, and relevant corporate functions to execute a division performance improvement and analytics strategy. Specific management oversight includes division resources that include process engineering, data analytics, and research data support. The Vice President reports to the Chief Clinical Officer for Central Florida Division. Through these efforts, the role is accountable and responsible to drive operational excellence on assigned priorities, deliver robust reporting & analytics, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and enhances capabilities of the Research Institute.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** **:
Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for data analytics, performance improvement, and research operations aligned with division and enterprise goals.
• Lead initiatives that improve patient safety, care quality, and operational efficiency.
• Establish a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies.
Data Analytics:
• Develops division-specific capabilities to accelerate performance and data-driven decision-making, across all settings of care, clinical, and strategic programs.
• Partner with IT leadership to align data analytics technologies with the organization’s strategic priorities.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide data infrastructure and analytics roadmap, integrating advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning into clinical workflows.
Performance Improvement & Lean Six Sigma Leadership:
• Oversee the deployment of Lean Six Sigma initiatives across the division, fostering a culture of continuous improvement that supports division goals & strategies.
• Mentor and develop leaders across analytics and performance improvement functions.
Oversight of Research Data Services and Program Management:
• Provide executive oversight for Research Data Services, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks.
• Partners closely with Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Academic Officer to ensure proactive alignment and execution of research and medical education strategies.
• Lead the integration of program management practices into research operations to accelerate growth and excellence in clinical and operational research projects.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
• Act as a primary liaison between division executive leadership, IT, corporate functions, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment of efforts across functions.
• Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations and communicate them effectively to executive leadership.
Team Development and Talent Management:
• Recruit and lead high-performing teams across analytics, performance improvement, and research data functions.
• Promote continuous learning and professional growth through mentorship and certification programs.
Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and ethical standards in all analytics, research, and performance improvement activities.
• Develop and enforce data governance policies and manage risk in collaboration with IT and compliance teams.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead individuals and teams toward achieving high performance standards and delivering exceptional quality services.
• Analytical Expertise: Proven ability to perform complex analyses and quickly translate data into actionable insights to support operational efficiency.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and measure the success of large-scale projects.
• Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences in a clear and compelling manner.
• Team Skills: Strong conflict management, negotiation, and team-building skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Technical Expertise: Current working expertise in tools and methods used in the development of data analytics (Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Qlik). Familiarity with machine-learning tools and methods (Python, R, Azure ML Studio) and their appropriate application. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite, including collaboration and digital transformation tools (e.g., Teams, Power BI, Flow, PowerApps).
_KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:_
• Clinical Program Leadership: Experience in leading clinical programs focused on quality improvement, patient safety, or disease management.
• AI & Machine Learning: Expertise leading teams in the use of machine-learning tools and methods (Python, R, Azure ML Studio) and their appropriate application.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Master’s degree in data science, business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field.
• 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare analytics, performance improvement, or related fields.
• 5 years of experience managing teams and large-scale initiatives within healthcare industry.
• Certification in performance improvement methodology from a recognized institution (Institute for Healthcare Improvement, etc.).
_EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:_
• Doctoral degree (PhD, DBA, or related) in business, strategy, or data science.
• Experience leading clinical initiatives or research projects.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred).
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

_LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:_
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred).
• Licensed for clinical practice in the state of FL as MD/DO, RN, or Pharmacist.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides direct supervision to Executive Directors and Directors for Performance Improvement, Data Analytics, and Research Data Services.
• Provides indirect management oversight to other Central Florida Division team members supporting campuses and service-lines with data analytics & performance improvement.
