Under direct supervision of a senior technical team member, the IT Support Assistant will perform a wide range of information technology related work in areas to include but not limited to: application development, application support, IT security, web development, networking, project management as well as management analysis and policy development.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the configuration and troubleshooting of applications, network and security related issues.
- Test new functionalities in applications and systems.
- Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot IT security systems and resolve network-related issues.
- Support various IT systems (e.g., Wireless, AMAG, Access, Internet) and perform event logging.
- Maintain inventory, manage stock levels, and handle computing equipment operations, adjustments, and installations.
-Work at the help desk on a rotation basis, answering queries from students and staff, and creating support tickets as needed.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining network devices like routers, switches, and access points.
- Help with network cabling, including running and organizing cables, and troubleshoot and maintain networked printers, including connectivity and configuration issues.
- Identify, document, and resolve issues for technology users and staff, including performing simple repairs, and maintaining documentation for network settings, devices, and troubleshooting steps.
- Provide general IT support, including assisting with computer setups, system updates, ID card production, and resolving network access problems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
2. Eighteen months of related full-time work experience or equivalent, such as completion of eighteen college credits in Information Technology
3. Demonstrated English Language proficiency
4. A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Possess a strong interest in the field of information technology.
-Familiarity with basic PC/Network troubleshooting, and understanding of DHCP, DNS, and Trace route.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, plan, follow-through on tasks, and handle multiple and competing priorities.
- Willingness to take on new assignments and to complete assignments on time and to a high level of quality.
-PC/printer deployment, hardware troubleshooting experience, and ability to install software remotely and on-site.
- Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrate high level of professionalism.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, windows and mac, ticketing system, various anti-virus products, and Zoom.
COMPENSATION
New Hire: $43,390*
Incumbent: $49,032
*This amount reflects a 13% salary suppression in effect for the first 24 months of employment only.
