Job Summary and Qualifications
The Lead IR Technologist is responsible for problem resolution regarding daily technical operations. Provides input for annual performance evaluations of subordinates. Maintains open communication with subordinates and acts as liaison to promote positive interaction with patients, family members, Medical Staff and other departments and hospital staff. Functions as a staff technologist as necessitated by daily workload.
Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures utilizing ionizing radiation in the performance of angiographic and interventional procedures for the purpose of detecting pathology. Regulates the equipment used to produce and process images. Assists in the daily operations of the Radiology Department. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and Medical Staff.
Essential Duties:
+ Supervises technologists work performance and coordinates assigned duties based on technologist competency.
+ Assures that all imaging procedures meet established criteria according to policy manual and Medical Staff.
+ Responsible for providing monthly staff schedules and PTO time in coordination with the imaging charge nurse.
+ Monitors the equipment to be in proper working conditions. Promptly reports any malfunctions to service provider.
+ Keeps charge nurse/manager/Imaging Director informed of all related departmental happenings.
+ Assumes duties of staff technologist when necessary.
+ Openly and honestly demonstrates support to hospital and departmental leadership.
Patient Safety
Demonstrates commitment to patient safety initiatives including patient fall prevention, medication safety, National Patient Safety Goals, critical value reporting, and administration of blood products.
Patient/Family Education
Provides appropriate patient/family education, per department and hospital policy and procedures.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
+ State Registered Radiologic Technician
+ Bachelors Degree, or Certificate, or Associate Degree
No Travel Required
1 year IR Tech experience Required
