Do you have a passion for understanding how customers engage with smart home technology? Do you want to influence how Alexa makes home and life better for customers? The Alexa Smart Home Growth team is looking for an experienced Customer Insights Manager who want to deep dive customer motivations, barriers, and behaviors to uncover insights that influence business and product roadmap decisions. Your research will inspire the organization to invent new Alexa based experiences on behalf of customers, impacting millions of lives.
Successful candidates will relentlessly pursue customer insights and understand how to turn them into actionable product, marketing, or business recommendations. You are analytical and thrive in complex data sets, turning them into simple business proposals that excite leadership. You'll draw from past experiences to lead the organization in how to think about different research approaches, and will be expected to apply them to a range of research questions. You are a strong collaborator and are expected to build relationships with internal researchers to ensure your studies raise the bar while engaging to positively build our Devices research community. You know how to be scrappy but can also operate as part of a larger team and business. You’ll have proven to be persistent but diplomatic and take challenges head on with a positive, play-to-win attitude that influences others around you.
This role requires ‘outside the box’ thinking to find new ways that help us get closer to customers faster. While you will employ traditional methods of product research, we have aspirations that will require a different way of thinking. Technically, you have deep expertise in design, creation, management, and business use of surveys, randomized experiments (including conjoints, maxdiff, and other choice tasks), and the latest quantitative research tools such as AI. You have a breadth of experience managing brand level, product attribute, and marketing studies.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience conducting customer insights or marketing research or strategic management consulting
- BA/BS in research, statistics, experimental psychology, cognitive science, social science, human computer interaction, or related discipline
- Experience leading large and complex studies, including scoping with business leaders, study design, data collection, data analysis, recommendations, and presenting results to senior management
- Experience working with stakeholders to understand priorities, define the roadmap, and to collaborate on studies and actions to improve our customers' experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and understand complex business problems across business units, geographies and product lines to create hypotheses and translate this into analysis requirements and identify meaningful insights
- Experience conducting qualitative or mixed methods research end-to-end (designing, executing, analyzing, drafting actionable recommendations, and presenting up to senior leadership)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Excel, Word, data visualization tools (Tableau, Quicksight) and statistical tools like SPSS/SAS/R/Q
- Possess flexibility and have a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous work environment
- Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written presentation skills
- Be a self-starter and an independent thinker who follow-ups on responsibilities in a timely manner while also being a strong team player
- Be a problem solver who always thinks about what to do next

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
