Verdantas is seeking a **Field Staking Technician Intern** to join our team in **Grand Rapids, MI** . This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in power utility substation, transmission, and distribution system project design, drawing preparation, and construction staking.
Responsibilities:
+ Construction staking of power systems with precision equipment
+ Field mapping of electric distribution overhead and underground lines
+ Assist with preparation of construction drawings for substation, transmission and distribution line projects
+ Prepare electric distribution system computer models
+ 4 to 5 days in the field and 1 to 2 in the office
+ Teaming up for inspections
Qualifications:
+ Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Survey
+ AutoCAD experience preferred
+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment
+ The position may include travel
+ Previous engineering co-op/experience a plus
+ Must be able to lift 20 pounds
+ Willing to walk on uneven terrain, sometimes in unfavorable conditions
