Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Head Custodian for its Arlington High School effective approximately May 1, 2025. This is a full-time 12-month position with full benefits. This position is a working supervisory position. The selected candidate would lead and participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the building and related materials.

Typical Work Activities:

+ Make regular inspections of buildings and grounds to maintain proper cleaning and maintenance procedures and make recommendations for improvements or equipment;

+ Train new employees and schedule and assign cleaning and maintenance work to subordinate personnel;

+ Keep records and make reports of supplies used and activities carried on; may assist with the ordering of custodial supplies;

+ Lead and participate in building cleaning and maintenance activities, such as dusting, moving furniture, sweeping, stripping/waxing floors etc.;

+ Related work as required.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

+ Two years of full-time paid work experience primarily involving institutional or commercial building cleaning and which includes minor maintenance experience and a minimum of one year involving supervisory responsibility.
