Description
Our client, a respected non-profit organization devoted to creating positive community change, is seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join their team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong payroll expertise and a passion for supporting mission-driven work.
Responsibilities:
+ Process and manage the payroll function for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
+ Maintain and update employee payroll records, including time and attendance data.
+ Handle payroll-related inquiries and troubleshoot discrepancies or issues.
+ Calculate and verify withholdings for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
+ Prepare, review, and file payroll taxes and reports.
+ Assist in year-end tasks, including W-2 and 1099 preparation and distribution.
+ Ensure compliance with non-profit-specific payroll policies and reporting requirements.
+ Collaborate with HR to onboard new hires and process employee status changes.
+ Stay current on payroll regulations, trends, and software features.
+ Support internal and external audits related to payroll processes.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably within the non-profit sector.
+ Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and tax compliance requirements.
+ Proficiency with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms).
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
+ Experience managing payroll for multi-state operations is a plus.
+ Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for internal collaboration and resolving employee inquiries.
+ Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
