Description

Robert Half is looking for a senior accountant for a growing Cincinnati based company. The senior accountant is responsible for driving accounting controls. The senior accountant is responsible for the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, bank and cash reconciliations and financial statement preparation. Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of construction accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and job costing.

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes; ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Implement budget analysis

• Monitor and report on job cost performance, budget variances, and profitability by project.

• Collaborate with project managers to track project budgets, change orders, billing, and collections.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, WIP (Work-In-Progress) schedules, and cash flow reports.

• Assist with financial audits, bonding requirements, and lender reporting.

• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and other financial professionals as needed.

• Maintain and improve accounting systems, software, and reporting tools (e.g., Computerease).

• Oversee subcontractor compliance including lien waivers, insurance certificates, and 1099 processing.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Extensive knowledge of General Ledger and Journal Entries management

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required

• Experience with Month End Close activities

• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• Ability to handle Month-end Close Activities, Month-end Financial, and Month-end Journal Entries

• Experience in Monthly Account Reconciliation, Monthly Balance Sheet, and Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Familiarity with ComputerEase software

• Knowledge of Construction Accounting and Construction Cost accounting

• Experience with WIP - Work In Progress accounting in the construction industry.
