    Job Summary

    Battelle’s Mission Focused Tools Division in **Columbus, Ohio** is seeking a **Lead Test Engineer** to join our multi-disciplinary team delivering mission critical cyber capabilities.

     

    As a Lead Test Engineer you grow and lead a team to evaluate capabilities produced by the research team. You will take ownership over the test and evaluation process, designing test plans and conducting formal and informal evaluations. You will interface directly with internal research teams and external customers and evaluators ensuring capabilities meet required standards. You will develop capabilities to enhance the automated testing pipeline available to the team.

    Responsibilities

    + Be a team lead of a test and evaluation group responsible for evaluating a wide range of cyber capabilities in both controlled and operationally relevant environments

    + Create and execute formal evaluation plans

    + Design solutions to output testing data into human readable formats for delivery

    + Write reports to summarize test results and provide recommendations on remediation strategy and prioritization

    + Interface directly with internal research and development teams as well as external stakeholders

    + Design complex test scenarios to effectively evaluate cutting edge cyber capabilities in operationally relevant scenarios

    + Create validation scripts to accurately measure success of manual and automated tests

    + Travel up to 20% of time to conduct field testing at customer designated facilities/sites and discuss requirements with customer representatives

    Key Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

    + Must be a US Citizen with a current Secret security clearance

    + Ability to communicate effectively with customers at varying levels of technical knowledge

    + Experience with a customer required formal testing and acceptance process

    + Experience leading a team and effectively breaking down tasks for delegation

    + Experience with Python, C and one or more assembly languages (x86, x64, ARM, MIPS etc)

    + Experience working with embedded systems

    + Understanding of network protocols

    + Understanding of RF concepts

    + Experience testing current full spectrum cyber capabilities

    + Experience with automation tools (docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins etc)

    + Knowledge of embedded system internals (Embedded Linux and RTOS)

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with one or more debuggers (WinDbg, OllyDbg, gdb)

    + Knowledge of advanced exploitation techniques (ret2libc,use-after-free,type confusion)

    + Knowledge of exploit protection techniques (DEP, ASLR/NX)

    + Knowledge of a disassembler for vulnerability research (Ghidra, IDA Pro, BinaryNinja)

    + Current Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
