    Welding Supervisor-- Catawba, SC

    Job Summary:

    Manage and supervise the pipe and structural welding team to ensure work is completed safely and meets all quality requirements. Plan and coordinate the efforts of those under his/her supervision and motivate them to accomplish the work safely, correctly and efficiently.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Read and understand plans, blueprints, and quality specifications.

    + Understand all aspects of pipe and structural welding procedures, materials, and quality requirements for various types or welding

    + Review written or communicated welding instructions and provide team members with assigned requirements

    + Ensure all welding work complies with safety regulations and quality standards

    + Support training needs and provide necessary corrections actions when needed

    + Maintain detailed records of welding activities and materials used and be able to report progress to management

    + Work with the customer daily to ensure customer needs are being met

    + Perform job walk downs to determine timelines, material needs, resources, and schedules needed to complete the task

    + Monitor and control expenses associated with jobs under your supervision

    + Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.

    + Record and track team members safety records, quality records, and labor hours

    Experience:

    + At least 2-3 years in a Supervisor Role.

    + At least 5 years in the welding field.

    + Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity for the members of his/her crew.

    + Preferred background in a CWI or QC Inspector role.

    Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

    + Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign

    + May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds

    + Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above

    + Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas

    + Must have full range of motion consistent with age

    + Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders

    + Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises

    + Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces

    + Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
