    The selected candidate will conduct and coordinate the electrical design, development, and testing for parts of a major project or several minor projects.

     

    The Role -

     

    Amphenol Military High Speed is seeking anElectrical Engineer to work out of its state-of-the-art facility inSidney, NY.

    The key responsibilities of theElectrical Engineer include, but are not limited to:

    + Develops product designs and/or test methods

    + Performs or defines complex texts for evaluation of product, equipment, or processes

    + Reviews and creates schematics, PCB layouts using layout rules

    + Debugging whether it's hardware or software related

    + Using bench test equipment (meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies) as part of the hardware verification/debug process

    + Works independently in planning and coordinating resources necessary to complete assignments

    + Performing PCB rework such as soldering, applying soft wire, and component replacement

    + Innovative and demonstrates significant ingenuity in problem solving and suggesting plans of action

    + Reviews and analyses a variety of data to determine requirements for meeting engineering objectives

    + Interacts independently with customers, vendors, and Amphenol personnel on significant design, process, or evaluation issues

    + Creates small scripts using a software language for firmware or to automate test equipment

    + May direct other employees

    + Coordinates and provides support to other departments within the company

     

    Salary: $61,500 - $85,000

     

    Location -

     

    + Sidney, NY

    + 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY

    + 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY

     

    The Person -

    The key skills and qualities of anElectrical Engineerat Amphenol Military High Speed:

    + Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline or Associate's degree and relevant experience

    + Experience with Computer-Aided Design (Mentor Graphics PADS or equivalent) is required

    + Personal computer experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs are also required

    + A background with fiber optic communication is preferred, but not required

    + A familiarity with software is desirable such as C, C#, FPGA, or python
