Dispatcher – Nights

Main Ingredients of the Job!

As a US FOODS® Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating driver activities to resolve service issues. The main objective is to verify that the customer's needs are met in a prompt and professional manner.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday | Start Time: 5:00 PM

Great Dispatchers are crucial to the US FOODS® team and one of the key members of our organization. Our Dispatchers strive for integrity and reliability while building trusting relationships with team members.

What you bring to the table

+ In the case of a vehicle accident or driver injury, the dispatcher must notify the manager/supervisor in charge and the safety specialist ASAP

+ Coordinate driver activities to minimize hours of service violations

+ Verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly

+ Assign backhauls as needed in the most efficient manner possible

+ Coordinate trailer and tractor assignments

+ Communicate to the sales force and operations management if there are any concerns regarding service issues due to late dispatch, breakdown, or other service failures

+ Reassign routes as needed

+ Visually inspect each driver’s appearance for proper uniform and PPE

+ Coordinate shuttle assignments to minimize downtime and overtime

+ Complete Attendance Reports

+ Distribute intercompany mail to sales force

+ Perform other duties as assigned by management

Education/Training:

+ High School Diploma or GED required

Related Experience/Requirements:

+ Must have working knowledge of DOT regulations and driver's logs

+ Must be organized and detailed with legible handwriting

+ Must be able to multitask

+ Minimum of 2 years transportation experience

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.

The expected base rate for this role is between $16 and $25 per hour.

As applicable, this role will also receive:

+ Overtime compensation

+ Shift differential

+ Retention bonus (if applicable)
