The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of 10-15 hourly employees within a test and assembly manufacturing environment. The primary responsibilities include day-to-day oversight of departmental goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Employee Development.
What will you do?
Front Line Supervision
+ **Staffing:** capacity planning, interview new talent, time-card administration, and OT Management
+ **Employee Development:** Individual Development Plans, Providing Coaching and Training
+ **Performance Management:** Annual Goal Setting & Reviews, Managing Disciplinary Actions
Production Planning
+ **Scheduling:** Work Order Planning, Sales Order execution, Employee and Equipment resources
+ **Material Flow:** Bulk Material, WIP and MRO Process Management
+ **Resource Planning:** Demand/Capacity/Delivery Management
+ **Inventory Management:** Cycle Counts, Kanban Management, WIP Audits, Scrap Reduction
Process Improvement & Project Management
+ Coordinate continuous improvement (PPI) initiatives/activities within the department
+ Lead, participate and/or support meetings; supervise project progress and report results
+ Analyze procedures and production methods to improve quality, costs and/or efficiency
Safety Ambassador
+ Conduct regular audits/GEMBA walks & implement improvements identified
+ Define & drive safety initiatives
+ Supervise & drive 5S program in area of ownership
How will you get here?
Education, Experience:
+ Minimum of High School Diploma and 7+ years leadership experience
+ Associates degree in business management and 5+ years of leadership experience highly preferred
+ Equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered
Preferred Experience:
+ Project management and organizational skills
+ Previous assembly experience in a Clean Room environment is a plus
+ Experience with low volume, highly sophisticated manufacturing processes
+ Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plus
+ Background in precision mechanical assembly processes preferred
+ Technical proficiency and knowledge of continuous process improvement techniques in a Lean manufacturing environment
+ Understanding or working knowledge of other business functions (Materials, Financial, Sales, Engineering and Human Resources) in addition to Manufacturing and Quality
+ Proven skills in developing subordinates to their best potential. Team building, coaching and mentoring skills. Conflict resolution.
+ Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
+ Proven track record in optimally working in a Team of 10-15 colleagues
+ Comfortable to work in a cleanroom environment while using appropriate PPE
+ Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively
+ Ability to support projects, perform training and work productively as part of cohesive teams
+ Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills
+ Ability to lift 35lbs
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds
