    Job Description:

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Radiologic Technologist Trainee performs a variety of technical radiography procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. The Radiologic Trainee works under the direction of the radiologist to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level with constant supervision from a Registered Radiologic Technologist. Room setup, patient positioning, patient screening, knowledge of Computed Radiography (CR) and/or Digital Radiography (DR), quality control, and radiation safety are the shared responsibility of the Radiologic Technologist Trainee and the Registered Radiologic Technologist supervising the trainee.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION

    _For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._

     

    **Minimum Required:** Current student of an accredited radiography program.

    **Preferred/Optional:** None

    EXPERIENCE

    **Minimum Required:** None

    **Preferred/Optional:** Two years’ of experience.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    _The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._

     

    **Minimum Required:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA).

    **Preferred/Optional:** None
