Job Overview
Provide general analytical laboratory support such as executing simple analytical equipment calibrations and verifications, inventory management, solution preparation and glassware cleaning. Able to organize routine work with supervision and to escalate issues as appropriate. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action .
Responsibilities
+ Perform laboratory related tasks carefully, safely and on schedule according to SOPs and supervisor instructions.
+ Generate hand-written record of actions accurately and legibly on appropriate documentation.
+ Perform calibrations and verifications of instrumentation according to written procedures with little to no supervision.
+ Utilize Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for inventory control of reagents, standards, and samples.
+ Participate cGMP activities.
+ Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
+ Maintain laboratory equipment and testing supplies as directed.
+ Perform cleaning of analytical glassware as necessary.
+ Participate in group and project meetings as required.
+ Enter project hours promptly and update project status on appropriate tracking and/or timekeeping systems.
+ Attend and apply new training as required.
+ Participate in and comply with all current safety, health and environmental programs.
+ Communicate issues or challenges to senior staff and/or laboratory management.
+ May review calibrations, verifications and basic test data acquired by others and document witness of others’ activities.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
+ Reasonable time management awareness to complete assignments within expectations of chemists and laboratory management.
+ Basic understanding of safe handling of chemicals.
+ Basic understanding of general laboratory techniques and understanding of mathematics.
+ Able to comply to SOPs and basic regulatory compliance.
+ Basic knowledge of scientific concepts, principles and procedures.
+ Awareness of regulatory authority and application to position.
+ Actively and positively engages with team and supports process improvements projects.
+ Ability to use computer to complete simple actions according to documented procedures.
+ Ability to operate laboratory equipment and computers.
+ Ability to take direction from experienced scientists and contributes in a team environment.
+ Good attention to details.
+ Good interpersonal skills and is willing to ask questions about procedures and concepts.
+ Aptitude and willingness to gain more skills and knowledge in support of GMP regulations.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills.
Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements
+ High school degree required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
+ Applicable experience in science-related field
The hiring range in Colorado for this position is $23/hour - $27/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
