JOB SUMMARY: Sales Support Designer works closely with Applications and Sales teams to develop equipment drawings, line layouts, or other supporting CAD related materials to assist in the sale of equipment to customers. They use input from Sales/Applications in form of email, sketches, questionnaires, and published sales literature to create representative drawings of the equipment(s) proposed as solution to customer needs. They are also responsible for working with Engineering and Applications teams to maintain a library of drawings representing the latest released equipment design updates or options to ensure accuracy of the detail and location of all features of the equipment that goes into the sales drawings included in proposals. Essential Duties and Percent of Time Spent: Process Sales Drawing Requests for all Further Processing product lines. Includes creation and revision of engineering drawings of complex equipment designs involving dimensioning, tolerances, auxiliary views and projections from sketches, layouts or engineering data as required. 50% Create line layout drawings involving multiple pieces of processing equipment and optimizing space within customer plant. Identify layout concerns including interferences, transfer issues, access limitations, etc. 20% Coordinate with Applications and Engineering teams to ensure any design updates are incorporated into standard equipment layout models and drawings. 10% Create custom drawings for sales collateral as needed by Sales & Marketing team 10% Support Applications team as backup for trained tasks as needed 10% Occasional Responsibilities: · Support testing in Sandusky Food Technology Center · Assist Product Line Managers, Segment Leaders, and Applications Engineers with continuous improvement projects as assigned EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years technical college, Associates Degree in Drafting with 3-5 years work experience OR 5+ years work experience in design and drafting within manufacturing environment Some experience in manufacturing and/or food processing industry a plus. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Proficient in CAD systems; AutoCAD Mechanical and Inventor, and Pro/Engineer preferred. Ability to work within PDM system, Windchill preferred. Must be familiar with the use of drafting standards, symbols, engineering terms, computer equipment, plotters, printers, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
