Job Summary
The Center for Community & Cultural Engagement ( CCE ), part of the Division of Student Affairs, is seeking a creative and motivated student to join our team as Student Outreach & Media Coordinators. This position is perfect for students who are passionate about storytelling, social media, and creating content that builds community and highlights diverse voices.
As a Student Outreach & Media Coordinator, you’ll help share the story of CCE—through social media, newsletters, photography, video, and more. You’ll work closely with staff and student teams to promote events, spotlight community initiatives, and connect with students across campus. If you’re into design, digital content, or just love finding new ways to get people engaged, this role is a great opportunity to build your skills and make a difference.

Responsibilities
+ Essential Functions (Office Admin)
+ Assist with general office duties, such as answering phones, greeting guests, maintaining the library, space cleaning and upkeep, assisting students, etc.
+ Represent the Center for Community & Cultural Engagement at events, tabling functions, and presentations for campus & community partners.
+ Distribute brochures, flyers, posters, and other advertisement materials related to the Center for Community & Cultural Engagement events & programming.
+ Direct inquiries to the appropriate departments and provide accurate information about office services.
+ Assist with filing, organizing documents, and ensuring compliance with university record-keeping policies.
+ Update databases, spreadsheets, and office reports as needed.
Essential Functions (Outreach)
+ Assist with planning and promoting program activities and events to students and campus partners.
+ Development of Monthly CCE Newsletter.
+ Establish a list of community and campus partners.
+ Support the CCE staff in coordinating student advisory boards and committees.
+ Student liaison between CCE and office of Orientation & Transition, and office of Admissions.
+ Partner with student organizations, university offices, and community partners to co-host initiatives that support student success.
+ Assist in the development of major events such as orientation, cultural heritage celebrations, and leadership development programs.
+ Create and manage promotional materials, social media content, newsletters, and email campaigns to enhance outreach efforts.
+ Maintain an up-to-date website with information on available resources and upcoming events.
+ Develop relationships with campus media to promote engagement opportunities.
+ Track outreach efforts, event participation, and student engagement metrics to assess program effectiveness.
+ Collect feedback through surveys and focus groups to improve outreach strategies.
+ Prepare reports on student engagement trends and make recommendations for future initiatives.
+ Develop partnerships with local organizations to expand student opportunities beyond campus.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Must be a current, enrolled undergraduate student at the University of Utah.
+ Must be available to work 19 hours a week. This includes occasional evening and weekend work.
+ The successful candidate will enjoy working with people. Past experience doing community-building work and planning and facilitating community events with teams, groups, or organizations is highly desired.
