Job Description:
The Director develops the strategic direction of marketing and communications campaigns for Select Health's Medicare Advantage (MA) and Medicaid lines of business. This position will leads Marketing Manager and team of Specialists who manage and execute on the marketing, communications, and advertising needs of MA and Medicaid products across multiple states. The Medicare and Medicaid Marketing Director reports to a Market President at Select Health.
This position works closely with the leadership and staff within the Select Health's Medicare and Medicaid Strategic Business Units (SBUs) to align marketing, communications, and advertising initiatives to achieve the financial and growth goals. Accountabilities include, but are not limited to, cost per lead, target market segmentation acquisition, and leads for internal sales, resulting in new membership growth.
Job Essentials
• Understands various customer segments and sub-segments of the assigned business lines and how each segment impacts overall product performance (including understanding of risk implications and impacts, etc.). Identify target market segments and ensure execution of multiple, successful business to business and/or direct to consumer marketing strategies through multiple channels (e.g., direct mail, digital, SEO, TV, radio, etc.) to drive achievement of sales, retention and margin objectives.
• The position will work closely with marketing colleagues in the Select Health Marketing Hub and the regions, including the executive, customer experience, public relations, and advertising directors/leads to ensure that all digital (social media, web site, search engine, next best action/personalization), print, creative and other marketing, advertising, and communications resources are leveraged to meet the SBUs’ objectives. The position will lead negotiations with external vendors to deliver the needed agency or technical support to deliver direct to consumer, business to business and other marketing or communications and will be accountable internally for their performance.
• The director will establish a comprehensive data and analytics capability to measure the performance of all marketing activities and manage ongoing expenditures based on costs and results. The position will evaluate marketing, communications, and advertising initiatives to determine demonstrated value including a return on investment.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Related Bachelor's degree (Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.)
+ 8+ years progressive marketing experience with a wide variety of marketing communication tools and channels, including demonstrated ability to utilize various marketing strategies to drive customer growth and retention. Including
+ 4+ years in a leadership role overseeing and developing a team of direct reports in marketing, communications, public relations, media relations, consumer insights/analytics, or advertising with experience in planning, budgeting, and policy development with demonstrated success.
+ 4+ years of marketing and communications experience as a subject matter expert for a defined product, function, or service.
+ Strong understanding of analytics and research and its use to develop, evaluate, and refine marketing and communications activities. Experience using analytics to determine activities that generate a return on investment including leads generated by marketing activities and other key performance indicators.
+ Experience using a wide variety of marketing communications tools and channels to in the delivery of direct to consumer messaging that generates sales leads and use of these tools to grow brand and reputation awareness aimed at membership growth.
+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to perform under stress; ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines; excellent writing, editing, interviewing, counseling, and design knowledge.
+ Experience working independently and effectively without close supervision, while consulting and coordinating with other management team members or stakeholders.
+ Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in use of word processing, spreadsheet, and programs.
+ Leadership experience directing individuals in implementing strategic marketing and communication plans.
+ Demonstrated experience in a role requiring problem-solving skills, mature judgment, and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master's degree in communications, marketing, business, English, or a communications-related field.
+ Direct experience with the populations overseen by the SBU, including sales.
Additional Details
+ This role is hybrid and will require travel to areas where Select Health conducts business. Candidates who live in, or are willing to relocate to, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado and are within a reasonable commuting distance to a Select Health office are preferred. Currently, we are not hiring remote workers in the following states: CA, CT, HI, IL, NY, RI, VT, and WA.
+ This is an exempt, full-time position. Pay offers are determined by prior years of relevant experience within the established pay range. In addition to the annual salary, to show our commitment to you and assist with your transition into our organization, we may offer a sign-on and relocation bonus when applicable. With this position, you are eligible to participate in the Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) Plan. This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Board-approved goals.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$66.41 - $102.52
