Job Summary

Working as the Director of Dining Services you will be responsible for all operations and leadership at Manhattanville University by creating excitement and overseeing operations in accordance with corporate programs and guidelines. This position will be responsible to drive guest satisfaction and engagement!

Key Responsibilities

+ Works in cooperation with the campus community to enhance campus partnerships and to support sustainability awareness, programming for nutritional and dietary awareness, residential life, etc.

+ Coordinates and executes programming and events, and lead a diverse committee of university and Chartwells participants.

+ Analyzes customer research, current market conditions and competitor information.

+ Manages the productivity of the culinary and front of house teams.

+ Ensures customer satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient uses of resources.

+ Directs staff to provide scheduled retail services in accordance with corporate policies and presentation standards.

+ Implements and maintains cash handling standards as outlined in the Corporate Policies and Procedures Manual to eliminate theft of services or Company funds.

+ Oversees P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account.

+ Maintains excellent relationships with clients, students, and the campus community.

+ Works with the Chef and management team in creating nutritious and top quality food for the students.

+ Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the Chartwells marketing and culinary teams.

+ Monitors industry best practices and trends.

Preferred Qualifications

+ A.S. or equivalent experience.

+ Three plus years of progressive management experience.

+ Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.

+ Experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet.

+ High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.

+ ServSafe certified is highly desirable.
