    Summary:

    We are looking for an experienced Sr. Program Manager to support AutoZone's Cloud team on a mission to enable AutoZone’s goal of making our compute platforms highly available, resilient and scalable.

     

    Apart from excelling at scope/budget/schedule management and stakeholder communications, this role is expected to collaborate and work efficiently with internal IT and business teams on their day-to-day duties as their work greatly impacts lot of internal teams/projects. This position directly reports to the Director of the cloud team with visibility on their work and contributions across the organization.

     

    We are looking for ideal candidates with 8 to 10 years of project management experience working with multi-cultural, multi-regional cross functional teams. Greater than 5 years of experience but the right background will be considered for strong candidates The candidate should be able to lead efficient strategies and tactics during our transformation, provide outstanding leadership ability to implement new processes, standards and governance, to follow best practices and standards set-up within the organization.

    Responsibilities:

    Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and deliver projects and programs

     

    Decide on suitable strategies and objectives for the project

     

    Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects

     

    Defining the program governance (controls)

     

    Lead the team toward delivering our customer’s solution in time and within budget

     

    Lead daily/weekly stand-ups and meetings

     

    Lead, evaluate and help other project managers in the team

     

    Develop, manage and control deadlines, budgets, and scope

     

    Apply change risk and resource management techniques as needed

     

    Assume responsibility for the programs team and vendors

     

    Manage and communicate Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies in a timely manner during the execution of the projects

     

    Coordinating the projects and their interdependencies and activities

     

    Managing and utilizing resources across projects

     

    Managing stakeholders’ communications

     

    Managing the main program documentation such as the program initiation document, project closing documents, monthly financial

     

    forecasts, weekly financial summaries, weekly status reports etc.

     

    Work with AutoZone PMO group defined policies/procedures and execute the same during each phase of the projects.

     

    Ability to work unsupervised, with little management oversight

     

    Capture KPIs and effectively communicate to stakeholders

     

    Background managing Vendor relationships with Staff augmentation, implementation partner and SaaS solution

     

    providers is expected/ desired

     

    Agile experience is highly desired

     

    Typically reports to IT Manager but sometimes may report to IT Director.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in management or a relevant field;

    • Experience in retail industry will be preferable. Familiarity with one or more of merchandising, supply chain or digital will be a plus.

    • 5 to 10 years’ experience in project management experience

    • Requires proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position

    • Excellent organizational, communication , management and leadership skills

    • Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles

    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, working knowledge of program/project management software (Basecamp, MS Project, etc.)

    • Experience with budget, scope and schedule management

    • Readiness to work with multi-cultural, cross geographical teams

    • Excellent problem-solving ability, relevant domain an analytical skill.

    • Outstanding grasp of IT concepts, processes, and web standards

    • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques

    • Vendor management experience as outlined in responsibilities with specific experience on

    1. Day-to-day Vendor liaison

    2. Change control management

    3. Process invoices
