    The Assistant Vice President of Business Development MA plays a pivotal role in driving growth and expansion for MAPFRE Insurance in its largest market. This leadership position is responsible for identifying strategic opportunities, forging key partnerships, and driving revenue growth through new business initiatives. The role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the industry, exceptional strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills.

     

    This position is responsible for leading and managing the MA Business Development team, continuously creating a high-performance organization, aligning the team with state growth/sales targets, and ensuring sales plans are executed properly to ensure MA achieves its growth ambitions.

    Key Qualifications and Attributes for this role:

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

    + Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sales management, with experience leading sales teams in the insurance industry preferred.

    + Proven track record of successfully managing sales and cross functional teams and driving revenue growth.

    + Ability to use data and analytics to drive strategy and planning, improve processes, and forecast sales.

    + In-depth understanding of market dynamics, business development processes, and industry trends.

    + Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate a team to exceed sales goals.

    + Excellent understanding of sales processes, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and performance metrics.

     

    Familiarity with sales compensation models, incentive structures, and performance management systems.
