Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director for Residential Student Conduct & Community Wellbeing. - Boca Raton, FL.
This position requires full time residence on the FAU Boca Raton Campus.
Summary of responsibilities:
+ Direct a comprehensive residential student conduct program following applicable laws, policies, guidelines, and regulations.
+ Align the residential student conduct program with best practices, professional standards, and a curricular approach to residential education.
+ Adjudicates alleged violations of the University’s Student Code of Conduct and Residential Community Guide, ensuring consistent and fair application of standards, outcome development, and outcome compliance.
+ Lead the work of Student Conduct Administrators through student conduct case assignments, ensuring case management timelines are met and ensuring consistent case resolution sanctioning.
+ Serve as the liaison to the Dean of Student’s Office, FAU Police Department, Office of Civil Rights and Title IX, Victim Services, and other relevant offices to navigate student complaints, incident reports, and investigations.
+ Assess and evaluate the residential student conduct program and provide reports as directed.
+ Track Clery reporting training for Housing and Residential Education staff.
+ Assist the Dean of Student’s Office with verifying the Clery violations and report data on behalf of Housing and Residential Education.
+ Facilitate training for the Housing and Residential Education staff and serve as a resource for staff regarding best practices, alternative case resolution processes, policies, and procedural guidelines
+ Assists with developing and revising student conduct and community wellbeing policies, procedures, and practices, including the Residential Community Guide.
Community Wellbeing
+ Conduct student follow-up in collaboration with the Dean of Students Case Management Team
+ Initiate referrals to appropriate campus resource departments, including Civil Rights and Title IX, Counseling and Psychosocial Services, the Victim Services Office, and others.
+ Collaborate with department staff and University stakeholders to develop and implement educational initiatives around student wellbeing.
Emergency, Crisis, and On-Call Response
+ Participate in the Leadership on-call system for Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses, including times when the university is closed (e.g., federal holidays, university closures) serving as essential personnel.
+ Follow protocol to respond to critical incidents and provide guidance to staff.
+ Facilitate post-incident referrals and follow-up with students and staff.
General Duties
+ Serve as a resource and referral agent for students and staff, focusing on student success.
+ Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines.
+ Engage in continuous learning and professional development.
+ Serve on university, divisional, and departmental committees as requested.
+ Chair a departmental committee and support department and division-wide initiatives.
+ Perform other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience required.
Requires full time residence on the FAU Boca Raton Campus.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
A master’s degree from an accredited institution in student affairs, student personnel, higher education, or related field.
3-5 years of experience working with Housing and Residential Life/Education or Student Affairs and university student conduct processes preferred.
Salary:
$61,000 per year.
