Automation Technology Instructor
Status: Part-time
Hours: Monday – Thursday; 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Pay/Salary: $26.49 /Hour
Summary
Guided by the Director of Programs and Program Coordinator, the Automated Technology Instructor plays a vital role in preparing students for successful careers in advanced manufacturing. This position delivers engaging instruction, assesses student progress, and continuously improves course materials and lab competencies to align with industry standards. The instructor is a role model for professionalism in classroom and lab settings, maintains relevant certifications, and actively contributes to program development and student success.

What You’ll Do:
Responsibilities of the Automation Technology Instructor include, but are not limited to:
+ Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the program’s strategic direction, ensuring alignment with industry advancements and best practices.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to support student job placement and program growth.
+ Ensure the program meets all Council on Occupational Education (COE) standards for completion, placement, and licensure.
+ Accurately record and maintain student performance data, including attendance, grades, and training outcome reports.
+ Foster a safe, hands-on learning environment in lab settings, providing direct supervision and guidance.
+ Continuously update the curriculum to meet industry requirements and advisory committee recommendations, ensuring students are workforce-ready.
+ Assess student progress through structured evaluations, measuring knowledge, skills, and readiness for entry-level positions.
+ Provide administrative support for classroom operations and assist with maintaining lab equipment.
+ Guide students in the proper use, care, and safety of manufacturing equipment and technology.
+ Manage and monitor inventory, ensuring supplies and equipment are utilized effectively.
+ Maintain an organized, professional training environment that promotes productivity and learning.
+ Model strong work habits and professionalism, fostering a responsibility and career readiness culture.
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute to a positive, team-oriented learning environment.
+ Actively promote the program and recruit new students from adult learners and high school graduates.
+ Perform additional duties as needed to support student success and program excellence.
What We’re Looking For:
+ Education Requirements: A high school diploma or the equivalent is required. A Two-Year certificate or associate’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
+ Experience: At least three years of hands-on experience in manufacturing before joining the position.
+ Technical Skills: Ability to read, write, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and circuits.
+ Professional Development: Commitment to continuous learning and ongoing professional development in manufacturing and/or education.
+ Teaching Experience: Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
