    **Northrop Grumman is seeking an** Associate Structural Engineer / Structural Engineer to join the Electronics Packaging Department. The department handles the mechanical design, analysis, and environmental test support of electronics boxes and circuit card assemblies. Primarily for Space applications.

    **Responsibilities** would include the following:

    + Leading vibration testing and occasionally shock and thermal vacuum testing for qualification units.

    + Working with CAD designers and electrical engineers on electronics box and circuit card designs.

    + Performing structural (vibration, shock, venting, solder joint fatigue) analyses on boxes and circuit cards using Femap/Nastran

    + Performing thermal analyses on boxes and circuit cards.

    + Generating analysis design notes and environmental test reports.

    + Working with engineering and manufacturing on circuit card design, building BOMs, providing guidance to CAD designers with assembly drawing requirements and component placement based on analysis results.

    Basic Qualifications for Associate Structural Engineer:

    A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

    + Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

    + Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM related field

    + Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

    Basic Qualifications for Structural Engineer:

    A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

    + Be completing or has completed their Master’s Degree from an accredited institution.

    + Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM related field

    + Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

    Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

    + Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.7 out of 4.0 or higher

    Pay Range for Associate Structural Electrical in Dulles, VA:

    74,000 - 111,000

    Pay Range for Engineer Structural in Dulles, VA:

    89,400 - 134,200

    Salary Range: $63,900.00 - $115,800.00Salary Range 2: $74,000.00 - $134,200.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
