Description
We are on the lookout for a meticulous Sr. Cost Accountant to join our client's team located in the Bridgewater New Jersey area. In this role, you will focus on refining cost accounting procedures, conducting in-depth analysis of manufacturing costs, and generating cost reports to support tactical decisions. This position is particularly suited for those with a robust understanding of cost accounting principles and prior experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of precise cost accounting systems and protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis and reporting on manufacturing costs, product profit margins, and cost discrepancies.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance departments to keep track of cost trends and pinpoint opportunities for cost reduction.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for the management team.
• Participate in the month-end and year-end close procedures, focusing on inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Head the physical inventory count processes and cycle count procedures.
• Examine inventory transactions and ensure they are accurately reported financially.
• Annually review and update standard costs or as necessary.
• Work with various teams to assist in budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, organizational policies, and accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
• Provide necessary documentation and explanations during audits.
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential.
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is required.
• Ability to work with Crystal Reports is necessary.
• Experience with Epicor is desired.
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is vital.
• Capability to handle all Accounting Functions is mandatory.
• Expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is a must.
• Proficiency in Auditing procedures and practices is needed.
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is required.
• Ability to manage Cash Activity effectively is crucial.
