Description

We are in search of an Accounting Specialist in the Energy/Natural Resources industry in downtown Houston. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be tasked with the efficient and accurate processing of customer applications and maintaining precise customer records. Your role will also involve resolving customer inquiries, monitoring customer accounts, and taking necessary actions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications

• Maintain precise records of customer credit

• Resolve customer inquiries promptly and effectively

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions based on account status

• Handle full cycle accounts payable and receivable tasks including obtaining necessary approvals, coding, scheduling payments, and processing cash reconciliations

• Prepare payments for controller approval and post payments

• Create and maintain vendor wire and ACH profiles in the banking system, ensuring all necessary documentation and contracts are in place

• Assist with month-end processes such as pulling documentation, booking entries, and reconciling accounts

• Maintain a database with daily supporting documentation of all payments and journal entries

• Set invoices calendar for payment and prepare and perform check runs

• Handle ad hoc requests as necessary.

Requirements

• Proficiency in performing all Accounting Functions is required for this role.

• Expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is a key requirement.

• The candidate must have experience handling Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Strong skills in Auditing are essential for this position.

• The candidate should be adept at performing Billing Functions.

• The ability to conduct thorough Account Analysis is necessary.

• Proficiency in using Pivot Table is a must for this role.

• The candidate must be skilled in using VLOOKUP.
