Shift: Mon – Fri, 8a to 5p (Hybrid)
Job Description:
The role of the Risk Lead is to partner and support teams within the Global Markets Operations Line of Business and senior leaders to proactively identify, validate, prioritize and mitigate risks, improve controls and maintain a focus on operational excellence and sustainable solutions. As a first line of defense team we are responsible for demonstrating, monitoring and managing the effectiveness and adequacy of the risk and control environment supporting GMO in line with the enterprise Risk Framework supporting responsible growth. Members of the GMO Vertical Risk Lead Team are a trusted partner to the Global Markets Operations teams and by providing independent oversight and assessment of their risk environment. It is our role to strengthen the control environment, improve the risk culture & practices, and promote the Global Operations Risk Principles by embedding and maintaining a robust risk culture across the organization, leveraging the bank's risk framework. We aim to create and sustain open channels of communication within the Global Markets Operations LOB teams to maintain trust and promote transparency to identify, escalate and debate potential operational risk concerns.
Responsibilities for this Risk Control actions include but are not limited to:
• Support the formal documentation and presentation of reportable and non-reportable operational issues and events, monitoring throughout the life cycle of the issue or event to completion and sustainability for closure.
• Ensure compliance with critical deadlines for risk identification, escalation and remediation.
• Interaction with the Global Markets Ops team to support, provide guidance and insight on potential risk and control issues, through discussion and analysis by leveraging the banks risk framework.
• Support the engagement and management of internal audits and reviews between our GMO LOB teams and internal stakeholders including Internal Audit and Global Compliance.
• Operations Lines of business to be covered may include any of the following within GMO Operations: Exchange Traded Derivatives, Collateral and Relationship Management Operations; Global Markets Shared Operations. Support GMO LOB team globally for ad hoc OR&C requests and initiatives as assigned.
Experience required for this **Risk Control person** position include:
• Global Markets Operations Experience - minimum 5 years, preferably some experience in Global Markets Operations and/or Risk and Control, Compliance or Audit.
• Experience managing risk items working in the line of business.
• Individual contributor with a strong control mindset with the ability to support and challenge the status quo with the GMO LOB independently.
• Strong problem solving skills, critical thinking and creativity to influence and support and GMO LOB issues and concerns.
• Excellent organization skills with ability to multi task risk issues and reprioritize with ease.
• Strong and impactful communication skills (written and verbal) to engage with all levels of management and stakeholders.
• Understanding of the bank’s risk framework and the ability to apply it to operational processes
• Strong collaboration skills to partner with peers in the Global ORC team and GMO LOB team
• PowerPoint/ Excel and executive level reporting skills

**Pay Details:** $42.56 per hour
