Job Description
We are currently hiring for a Sheet Metal BIM Coordinator for a large commercial mechanical contractor in the Greater Cincinnati, OH area. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve taking engineering drawings and developing them into constructible and fabricable drawings. You will primarily use REVIT and other relevant software on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
+ Create mechanical systems drawings utilizing architect-generated dimensions and structural backgrounds under the supervision of the Lead BIM Coordinator/VDC Manager.
+ Attend all trades clash coordination meetings and make changes to 3D models.
+ Document and advise all parties of any discrepancies, unclear intent, or missing information that will affect coordination.
+ Work closely with the Lead BIM Coordinator during coordination meetings, making any changes to 3D models required from coordination meetings.
+ Work closely with the field superintendent during coordination meetings, making notes of any changes made because of coordination. Also, work with the superintendent to locate wall, slab, and roof openings, especially those in poured walls.
+ Review submittals for size, quantity, and design, ensuring they meet engineer requirements and fit in the available space, under the supervision of the Lead BIM Coordinator.
+ Revise coordination drawings as needed, clouding, and numbering any subsequent revisions under the direction of the Lead BIM Coordinator.
+ Create a key plan that shows how the building will be broken into ¼” scale drawings. This plan will estimate how long it will take to coordinate each area or drawing under the supervision of the Lead Coordinator.
+ Read architectural, structural, and mechanical contract drawings as well as mechanical specifications to become familiar with the design and elements of the project, including all addenda to ensure all drawings reflect changes.
+ Reconcile size and quantities of equipment before it is released.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in Revit doing Sheet Metal BIM Coordination.
+ Proficient in sheet metal design, fabrication, and installation.
+ Experience with BIM and Revit MEP.
+ Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design and engineering.
+ Some type of laborious construction experience, such as pouring concrete, pipefitting, rebar-busting, conducting civil ground work testing, etc.

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.88/hr.
