We are seeking a **_Laboratory Technician_** who will provide lab support to faculty, student and staff for the Center for Immunization Research (CIR) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The position also provides support for the development of RVP assay and other duties as assigned.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
+ Development of RVP assay.
+ Operate standard equipment.
+ Use standard procedures for specific laboratory tests and preparation techniques.
+ May be responsible for laboratory maintenance.
+ Preparing solutions and media and ordering supplies.
+ Identify and report problems in completion of routine lab processes.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
+ Adept in effectively communicating through strong oral and writing skills.
+ Proficient in upholding a high level of confidentiality through adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
+ Projects and priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and prioritizing workflow.
Minimum Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or graduation equivalent with some science coursework.
+ Certificate from technical institute or internship experience preferred.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Biology, Microbiology or related field.
+ Experience with RVP assay.
+ Training Certificate from Technical Institute.
