    ChOICE Mental Health Clinician

    For more than 50 years, Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) has served the Washington County community and the Orange County towns of Orange, Washington and Williamstown. WCMHS provides education, support, and treatment of individuals and families living with mental health challenges, substance use issues, and developmental and intellectual disabilities.     POSITION: WCMHS is seeking a compassionate and skilled clinician to provide therapeutic and case management services to youth with severe emotional and behavioral challenges within an integrated mental health treatment facility, at home, and in the community. This position includes delivering individual, family, and group psychotherapy, facilitating skill-building sessions, and coordinating services through individualized treatment plans. The clinician will manage a caseload of up to 10 youth enrolled in the day treatment program, participate in monthly team meetings, and collaborate with schools, families, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support. Additional responsibilities include attending treatment planning meetings, providing consultation and training to school and Academy staff, and completing all clinical documentation in a timely manner. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The role also involves de-escalation and physical intervention techniques as needed, with appropriate training provided.     QUALIFICATIONS: The ChOICE Mental Health Clinician’s education and work experience will include:

    + Master’s degree in human service field required.

    + Clinical or license track as a psychologist, social worker, or clinical mental health counselor preferred.

    + Must have a valid driver’s license, possess an excellent driving record, and have access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle.

    Additional requirements for this position include:

    + Ability to work within a team with effective interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and colleagues within WCMHS and external partners.

    + Willing and able to satisfactorily complete specialized physical and verbal de-escalation training is required.

    + Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

    + Willing to learn crisis de-escalation and passive restraint techniques.

    + Must possess the capability to complete Handle With Care training to the satisfaction of a Handle With Care instructor.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills. Expectation is for clinical documentation to be completed in a timely and organized manner.

    + Commitment to the WCMHS mission and positive regard for individuals accessing services.

     

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: This full-time position offers an exempt hourly wage of $26.24/hr and excellent benefits, including tuition reimbursement/student loan assistance; generous paid time off; employer-sponsored health, dental, life, and disability insurances; and a 403(b)-retirement plan with employer match.
