Responsibilities
The Division of Advanced GI and Bariatric Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking applications for a board-eligible or board-certified general surgeon to join an acute care surgery service line and serve as an Acute Care Surgeon. The practice is a busy non-trauma practice, encompassing the entire spectrum of abdominal pathologies and acute surgical emergencies. There is also the opportunity to develop an elective practice in abdominal wall reconstruction.

The three shields of the Mayo Clinic represent clinical practice, education, and research, and the ideal candidate for this position is first and foremost an excellent clinical surgeon. Successful candidates should possess excellent clinical skills, and a strong interest in teaching.
The position includes participation in education efforts for the ACGME-accredited general surgery residency program. Our center has significant infrastructure and collaborative atmosphere to support individual’s professional pursuits, including research, education, administration, quality projects, and simulation.
