    Responsibilities

    **A postdoctoral position is available in the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Mayo Clinic, under the mentorship of Dr. Georges Mer.** The research focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of multi-subunit protein assemblies that modulate chromatin structure in DNA damage repair and epigenetic inheritance using integrative approaches (e.g., Hu et al., _Nature_ 2021; 596(7872):438-443 & Hu et al., _Mol Cell_ 2024; 4(5):839-853).

     

    We are seeking a recent Ph.D. graduate with expertise in cryoEM or cryoET sample preparation and data processing. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art facilities at Mayo Clinic, including advanced resources for cryoEM/cryoET, NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography.

    Additional required qualifications:

    + Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

    + Demonstrated skills in scientific writing as evidenced from peer-reviewed publications

    + Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining meticulous experimental records and documentation

    A Research Fellow position in Life Sciences (LS) will require knowledge of either clinical-based research or laboratory-based research often obtained from a postdoctoral program.

    A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.

    Qualifications

    Must have a Ph.D. in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.

    $61,027.00 - $74,089.60 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
