    Why Mayo Clinic

Mayo Clinic is top-ranked in more specialties than any other care provider according to U.S. News & World Report. As we work together to put the needs of the patient first, we are also dedicated to our employees, investing in competitive compensation and comprehensive benefit plans (https://jobs.mayoclinic.org/benefits/) – to take care of you and your family, now and in the future. And with continuing education and advancement opportunities at every turn, you can build a long, successful career with Mayo Clinic.

    Responsibilities

The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology seeks a hematologist with a focus on lymphoma and cellular therapies to join our thriving program. Our ideal candidate would be a mid-career to senior level hematologist focused on lymphoma with leadership skills and ambition to help expand the Mayo Clinic in Arizona Cellular, Molecular and Bispecific Therapies (CMB) Program. Our ideal candidate will have achieved at least an Associate Professor rank level and preferably has established peer reviewed funding. The applicant will have the opportunity to teach medical students, residents, fellows and provide mentorship to more junior faculty. The successful candidate will partner with our internationally recognized group in a multidisciplinary clinic, develop and conduct clinical trials, help recruit future colleagues and drive innovation across the spectrum of care. The successful applicant will be able to build their academic practice and reputation nationally and internationally.

Cancer care at Mayo Clinic is managed collaboratively across the Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota campuses therefore the applicant will have access to the combined resources of the entire Mayo Clinic Enterprise Network. This includes over 200 oncologists and hematologists, CORE research facilities, pathology, clinical records, and over 2000 faculty involved in cancer care. Additionally, the Lymphoma Cancer Program members are active participants in the Mayo led Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology and the NCI Experimental Therapeutics-Clinical Trials Network (ETCTN). Clinical trials are conducted in collaboration with Industry partners, the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, the NCI Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (UM1) and other national and international consortia.

Additionally, Mayo Clinic has a strategic and robust relationship with Arizona State University (ASU). ASU has its headquarters located in Tempe, Arizona, and is now the largest university in the United States. It has been designated by US World and News as the most innovative university in the nation for eight years in a row. Mayo Clinic and ASU formalized their relationship in 2016 under the rubric of the Mayo Clinic and ASU Alliance for Healthcare. We have multiple areas of interaction, including research, education, innovation, and administration. Four focal areas of interest include Human Performance and Biomedical Research, Digital Connectivity, Workforce of the Future (Education), and Medical Technology. ASU built a research building in proximity to Mayo Clinic hospital, the Health Futures Center. In collaboration with ASU and the city of Phoenix, we are building a biotechnology corridor called Discovery Oasis. Owning over 250 acres of land adjacent to our hospital secures strategically the future of Mayo Clinic. Individuals of Mayo Clinic can hold adjunct appointments at ASU, and in some circumstances can have students as part of their research team.

Over the next five years, Mayo Clinic is making significant investments in both the physical and technological future of health care, through doubling the size of the Mayo Clinic campus in Phoenix, inclusive of practice, education, and research activities. Mayo Clinic's campuses in Arizona are located in Phoenix and Scottsdale, in the beautiful Sonoran Desert.
