SIT specializes in custom systems and projects, making every project unique and offering the opportunity to solve challenge problems for customers. Our projects are typically for marine, oil & gas, defense, civil (movable bridges) and industrial power unit applications.     The Sales Engineer will start off with an inside sales role with the goal of learning about customers, products and skills necessary to move into an outside sales role within 1-2 years of hire. SIT will facilitate rotational duties in inside sales, engineering & production for hands-on training as well as shadowing management and outside sales. The sales engineer will be expected to pass the Fluid Power Certification from IFPS and demonstrate competency with products, vendors and sales skills to move to an outside role. This is an exciting opportunity to learn complex system sales in a supportive environment and as part of the EOH Sales Talent Development program.

    Specific responsibilities may include:

    + Support outside sales with customer communication, system specification and project management.

    + Manage relationships with key clients to ensure client satisfaction and develop confidence with client relations.

    + Order entry, project management and order tracking in P21 ERP system.

    + Work with engineering to assist with system drawings and component specifications.

    + Learn about products, systems and vendors to develop a high level of fluid power & application knowledge.

    + Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program to conform to ISO 9001:2015 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or comparable experience.

    + Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Tech or Industrial Distribution degrees preferred.

    Experience:

    + Up to two (2) years of experience in sales, customer service, or technical fields.

    + Previous experience in hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, or automotive repair strongly preferred.

    + Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment a plus.

    Knowledge & Skills:

    + Laser customer focus to add value to customers, exceed expectations and deliver promised results to clients.

    + Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.

    + Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

    + Technical aptitude to learn about fluid power/electrical applications and systems.

    + Selling skills, including ability to uncover opportunities, determine ways to provide value to customers and overcome obstacles to upsell/cross sell/win new business.

    + Detail oriented to manage customer projects, deadlines and shipments.

     

    As contracts with the U.S. government have required this position to be held by a U.S. citizen, please confirm status as a U.S. citizen.
