    The Role at a Glance

     

    As a Sr. Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and valuation of inventory by managing reconciliations, cycle counts, and complex journal entries. You will collaborate with teams such as Loss Prevention, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and IT to monitor shrink results, improve processes, and resolve issues. Additionally, you will guide international inventory teams and accommodate audit requests, while contributing to the organization's financial integrity and compliance.

     

    • Review Inventory Reports: You will examine weekly Distribution Center (DC) roll forwards and other inventory sourcing reports prepared by the inventory staff accountant.

    • Maintain Processes & Documentation: You will keep processes and SOX documentation up-to-date and accurate.

    • Identify and Resolve Issues: You will detect issues, research their causes, and lead projects to address and correct process/system gaps that result in non-compliance.

    • Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations: You will conduct balance sheet reconciliations and analyze accounts for compliance with both basic and complex accounting and valuation concepts.

    • Provide Backup Support: You will act as a backup for the reconciliation of weekly Chain-wide Average Cost systematic entries to the Mainframe, proactively identifying potential errors/inconsistencies in the General Ledger.

    • Review and Report on Inventory Revaluations: You will serve as a backup for reviewing and reporting on manual inventory revaluations and store order pack changes, including analyzing P&L accounts for proper accounting treatment.

    • Collaborate with Teams: You will work with Loss Prevention, Merchandising, and Supply Chain teams to monitor DC shrink results, improve processes, and evaluate the value of merchandise.

    • Partner with IT: You will collaborate with IT to resolve and monitor various open items.

    • Support International Teams: You will provide guidance to inventory teams in Mexico and Brazil as needed, including travel.

    • Accommodate Audit Requests: You will respond to internal and external audit requests promptly and accurately.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Education and Experience: You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and have a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience

    • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: You possess strong research, analysis, and problem-solving abilities.

    • Technical Proficiency: You have advanced Excel skills, with experience in SQL and SAS.

    • Process Improvement: Proven ability to develop and implement procedures and improve processes.

    • Time Management: Effective at managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

    • Innovative Thinking: Creative and bold in generating ideas to enhance performance.

    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication.

    • Team Collaboration: Ability to thrive in a team environment.

    • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities.
