Description:
•Registered Nurses assume responsibility and accountability for the assigned patients. Registered Nurses provide professional nursing care to these patients by incorporating the nursing process, the environment, the technical equipment and other healthcare team members. In addition to this, they provide care to neonates, pediatric, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. __ __
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
+ Utilizes the nursing process which includes:
+ Patient assessment
+ Nursing diagnosis
+ Nursing care plans
+ Implementing interventions
+ Evaluation of patient status in relation to the above
+ Manages personalized care for patients by:
+ Promoting and restoring patients’ health
+ Collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary team members
+ Providing physical and psychological support to patients and support persons
+ Executes regimen prescribed by the provider within nursing practice guidelines.
+ Delivers care that is age-appropriate and culturally specific.
+ Provides education on medications, procedures, and plan of care during hospitalization and after.
+ Maintains confidentiality of patient-related matters.
+ Provides care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s diversity, preserving patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
+ Performs and/or supervises activities/functions which require knowledge and skill level currently ascribed to the registered nurse and seeks assistance when these are beyond the registered nurse’s scope of practice.
+ Provides leadership and direction in the supervision of others in carrying out the nursing process.
+ Maintains current competencies by attending educational workshops and participating in departmental projects for process improvement.
+ Performs all duties with the highest level of safety.
+ Other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education for Staff Job Levels:
+ Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher from a credentialed school.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
+ RN degree
+ Certification in BLS
+ Mandatory Reporter Abuse Training (within 3 months of hire)
+ ACLS and PALS (within 6 months of hire)
