    Assistant Professor of Endocrinology– The University of Texas Medical Branch

     

    Are you passionate about Endocrinology and eager to shape the future of medical education while providing exceptional patient care? UTMB invites you to apply for a dynamic role as an Assistant Professor of Endocrinology. This full-time academic clinician position offers a unique blend of clinical practice, teaching, and collaborative opportunities across multiple locations in the southern Houston & Galveston region.

     

    Our faculty are passionate about education and mentorship, and our clinic footprint provides an opportunity to see a large variety of Endocrinology pathologies. Our clinic includes specialty clinics for Bone Health, Obesity Medicine, Women’s Health, and we also serve a large portion of the Correctional Managed Care population in Texas.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + **Patient Care:** Engage in a rewarding clinical practice with a schedule that includes 8 half-day outpatient clinics per week. You'll also participate in a weekend rotation for inpatient consults, providing comprehensive care and contributing to a team dedicated to high-quality patient outcomes.

    + **Teaching and Mentoring:** Play a pivotal role in educating the next generation of medical professionals. You'll teach and mentor medical students, internal medicine residents, and endocrinology fellows, fostering their development and nurturing their clinical skills.

    + **Regional Impact:** Serve several clinic locations throughout the southern Houston area. This role offers the flexibility and opportunity to make a significant impact across diverse communities, with travel to various clinic sites as needed.

    Qualifications:

    + **Education:** MD degree or equivalent.

    + **Training:** Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship program.

    + **Certification:** Board certification in Internal Medicine and board certified or eligibility in Endocrinology.

    + **Licensure:** Eligibility for Texas medical licensure.

    Ideal Candidates:

    • Have a passion for teaching & mentoring

    • 3+ years' operating their own outpatient practice
