    The CVOR-CST is responsible for providing technical support in the care and preparation of patients undergoing Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgical procedures. Functions as an important member of the surgical team in the operating room and scrubs all levels of CVOR and thoracic procedures. Prepares setup and scrubs procedures in the regular OR as needed. Must have an understanding of the Heart Lung Machine and its function with the cardiovascular system in regard to cannulation of the patient. Must be able to take call, including weekends.

     

    Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military equivalent. Certification is required. If you graduated after 1/1/08 you must be certified. All candidates that graduated prior to 1/1/08 will be eligible for consideration. Surgical technologists that are not certified may be hired but must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
