    Description

    The Analytical Sciences Technician works with a group of laboratory professionals to support various projects across the organization by delivering accurate analytical testing of dairy ingredients and fermented products using a wide range of laboratory techniques. The Analytical Sciences Technician reports to the Analytical Sciences Manager.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare, label, and document samples according to the standard procedure.

    + Perform routine, semi-routine, and complex duties associated with various aspects of analytical testing according to the standard laboratory procedures.

    + Prepare reagents, buffers, and samples.

    + Maintain accurate records and report test results in a timely manner.

    + Clean and maintain all glassware and equipment.

    + Operates laboratory equipment as detailed in the laboratory procedure.

    + Participate in training to improve the accuracy, precision, and efficiency.

    + Perform other laboratory tasks when needed.

     

    Schedule and Travel

     

    Typically, work days are 8 hours, Monday through Friday beginning at 8:00am. Occasionally, work hours might be adjusted to accommodate project schedules. Travel is not required.

    Qualifications

    + B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related field.

    + Excellent laboratory skills.

    + Detail-oriented.

    + Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills.

    + Basic computer, including Microsoft Excel, and math skills are preferred.

    + Ability to work as a team member and independently.
