Description
We are on the lookout for a proficient Desktop Support Analyst to join our team located in West Des Moines, Iowa. The role is centered around offering technical support within the business, focusing on the maintenance of hardware, software, and mobile devices. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity within the IT industry.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the accurate and effective processing of break/fix incidents and move/add/change requests.
• Perform regular checks on systems to ensure operation efficiency and accuracy.
• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and updates of PC hardware and software.
• Establish a clear line of communication with stakeholders, providing updates on status, risks, quality, and operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PC hardware such as laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
• Identify areas for improvement, escalate when necessary, and provide suitable recommendations.
• Utilize expertise in the Windows 10/11 operating system to troubleshoot software issues.
• Leverage strong analytical skills to make decisions, use independent judgment, and establish priorities.
• Effectively manage multiple initiatives concurrently, while maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in all aspects of the role.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role as an IT Desktop Support Specialist
• Proficiency in computer hardware including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Experience in computer imaging and desktop imaging, for creating standard desktop images and deployment
• Experience with Active Directory, including creating and managing user accounts, groups, and permissions.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including setup, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with VMware, with the ability to set up, manage, and troubleshoot virtual environments.
• Ability to support mobile devices, including setup, troubleshooting, and user assistance
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with end users and team members
• Relevant certifications or degree in Information Technology or related field would be an advantage.
