    Description

    Reputable, engineering company seeks a Cost Accounting Manager with proven knowledge of GAAP and strong standard cost knowledge. In this role, the Cost Accounting Manager will monitor and evaluate inventories, oversee the month end closing process, assist with budgeting and forecasting, prepare monthly journal entries, maintain internal controls, analyze cost variances, and manage the cost auditing process. This candidate will ensure department goals are met, cost is reduced and overall improvement of profitability.

    • Collect and analyze operational cost data

    • Maintain cost accounting procedures

    • Analyze production cost

    • Set standard costs of goods

    • Administer cost accounting principles

    • Prepare production reports

    • Assist with month-end cost accounting close

    • Prepare estimates of costs

    • Coordinate with operations on forecasting

    • Resolve cost inaccuracies

    Requirements

    The ideal Cost Accounting Manager will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

    Other requirements for the Cost Accounting Manager role include and are not limited to:

    • 8+ years of strong standard cost accounting experience

    • Strong knowledge of inventory movements & transactions

    • Any ERP experience, Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred

    • Supervisory experience a plus
