Description
We are looking for a skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This role involves managing key accounting functions, including cost analysis, financial planning, and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for new or unique products to assist in pricing and production planning.
• Oversee core accounting operations, including compliance, audits, and tax-related activities.
• Collaborate with business leaders to develop financial plans and align analysis with strategic goals.
• Provide actionable insights to drive performance improvements and enhance decision-making.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to establish and analyze cost standards.
• Monitor and evaluate production costs to identify areas for optimization.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing financial data and recommending solutions.
• Ensure compliance with various financial laws and regulations while maintaining accurate records.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to create comprehensive financial reports and analyses.
• Leverage ERP systems, such as Epicor, to streamline accounting and costing processes.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 4 years of general accounting experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 2 years focused on cost accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
• Excellent communication abilities to interact with cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on cost standard development and analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, such as Epicor, is a plus.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
