    Organization Overview

     

    The Engineering Tech Center (ETC) is responsible for providing global technical expertise in the engineering sciences related to Process Engineering and secondary/tertiary loop disciplines. This includes knowledge and stewardship of the following: First Principles, Unit Operations, Equipment Flow Diagrams, Capability Calculations, Material & Energy Balances, Facilities (fitness for use), Root Cause applications, Equipment and Unit Operation Changes/Improvements including new technologies, Scale-ups, Periodic Reviews, Process Safety, Maintenance/Reliability, etc. This function has a global presence. This team provides engineering support to global manufacturing sites for the customer network, Global Facilities Delivery (GFD), development sites, as well as external manufacturing organizations and alliances.

     

    The ETC Dry Products Program Manager will provide oversight of equipment delivery across Lilly’s oral solid dose manufacturing network. This role will have responsibility for capital delivery of equipment, managing schedule, resources, vendor management, and common delivery practices. The Program Manager will interact with technical resources in the ETC, manufacturing sites, and equipment vendors, ensuring safe delivery by following company safety and quality standards.

    Responsibilities:

    The Program Manager has overall responsibility for equipment delivery, managing common equipment platforms, and vendor management.

    Project Management:

    o Manage capital project delivery of equipment assets, budget ($50MM+), schedule, and scope management

    o Ensure on time delivery of equipment to manufacturing sites

    o Support manufacturing project delivery teams in vendor management

    o Manage commissioning and qualification teams

    o Provide project management oversight to governance structures supporting equipment delivery

    Vendor Management & Customer Service:

    o Build relationships with equipment vendors to develop corporate wide support model

    o Work with procurement to develop ongoing service contracts with vendors

    o Work as a central point of contact for manufacturing sites to manage vendor issues across the corporation

    o Compile equipment performance metrics to provide vendor feedback

    o Assist with new equipment selection, purchases, RFPs, and evaluation of vendors

    Basic Requirements:

    o Bachelors degree in engineering (e.g. ChE, ME, IE, BME)

    o 7+ years of experience in Project Engineering and/or related pharmaceutical manufacturing functional areas (e.g. Quality, TSMS, Plant Engineering, Operations)

    o Experience with common project management tools (i.e. Microsoft Project, Resource Management, etc.)

    Additional Skills/Preferences:

    o Outstanding communication skills via email and presentations with senior management

    o Demonstrated learning agility with engineering expertise in one or more disciplines

    o Demonstrated ability to influence senior management

    o Knowledge of cGMP requirements, particularly as they apply to equipment delivery

    o Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools (Green or Black Belt certifications are preferred)

    o Experience with Engineering Standards and Resource Assessments

    o Ability to work independently and establish priorities and strategies for the organization

    Additional Information:

    o This position supports engineering globally and may require US and OUS travel (10-25%) as well as off-hour meetings due to time zone differences. This is not a remote position, and in-person presence is required.

    o This position requires the ability to access many different manufacturing sites. Varying PPE will be required.

    Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

     

    $114,000 - $181,500

     

    Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
