Job Title: Chemical Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chemical Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mixing and monitoring a variety of chemicals, recording batch information, and managing the loading and unloading of tank trucks and containers. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors, with significant time spent handling railcars and tankers.
Need to be open to days and nights and 2 month rotating
Mon-Thurs 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am
Schedule will rotate every 2 months, will work days and nights
$19-24 depending on experince
Responsibilities
+ Mix and monitor a variety of chemicals.
+ Record information such as ingredients, weights, temperatures, and batch status.
+ Load and unload tank trucks and fill containers of various sizes.
+ Transfer fluids and products through hoses from tankers.
+ Operate a sit-down forklift.
+ Gather materials and utilize the internal system to document work.
+ Offload rail cars to storage tankers.
+ Weigh raw materials including powders and liquids.
+ Clean out totes, tankers, and other equipment.
+ Print and manage batch tickets.
+ Comfortably work on a mezzanine and climb ladders to dump products.
Essential Skills
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ 2 years of experience in batch mixing, chemical operations, blending, or similar fields.
+ Experience in fluid transfer and handling hoses and pumps.
+ Proficiency in using MS Office.
+ Forklift operation experience, specifically with sit-down propane forklifts.
+ Comfortable working outdoors and conducting fluid transfers on tankers.
+ Experience with railcars and tankers.
+ Ability to climb ladders and work on mezzanines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Comfortable working rotating shifts, including days and nights (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am).
+ Open to schedule changes every 2 months.

Work Environment
The work environment requires wearing proper PPE, including steel-toe boots (provided). You will work outside unloading railcars and handling chemicals in an older facility that can be dirty. Uniforms and gloves are provided to ensure safety and comfort.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mc Cook, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
