Job Title: Machinist
Job Description
Operate basic CNC machines (lathes and/or mills) to produce parts. Clean and inspect completed parts.
Responsibilities
+ Edit 2D programming in machines.
+ Set up machine with raw materials and secure materials for the job.
+ Set up tooling specific to job scope with assistance.
+ Perform a dry run of the job to ensure machine will produce parts specific to job scope.
+ Read basic G-code and M-code. Ensure machines are operating according to the program.
+ Constantly monitor machines to ensure the manufacture of accurate components per job specifications.
+ Clean, de-bur, and inspect finished parts to ensure they were manufactured to specifications.
+ Use measuring devices and techniques to ensure proper sizings per each specific job.
+ Read and interpret blueprints to ensure parts are correct and according to job scope.
+ Record materials used throughout the process including types and varieties.
+ Record data throughout the process including sizings and illustrations to ensure the proper outcome of jobs.
+ Use various handheld and stationary power and non-power tools as needed including but not limited to band saws, belt sanders, hand grinders, and files.
Essential Skills
+ CNC or Manual Machining: Mills / Lathes (1+ years)
+ CNC set-up/dry runs (1+ years)
+ Blueprint Reading (1+ year)
+ Precision measuring tools: Micrometers / Calipers / etc. (1+ year)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ CNC programming/editing experience
+ G & M Code experience
+ Formal education/degree within machining/machine tool technology
+ Crane & forklift operating experience
+ Large machining experience

Work Environment
This is a very large job shop facility that is semi-climate controlled. The machine shop can become hot during the summer and cool during the winter. The shop is fairly clean, although there are areas that could be cleaner.
Shifts and schedules are as follows:
2nd shift: 3:30 PM - 2 AM,
3rd shift: 10 PM – 6:30 AM.
Candidates need to provide their own tools for this position. If they do not have their own tools, they are given 1-3 months to obtain the minimum required tools. Candidates will need to complete an RFT (Respirator Fit Test) for the onboarding process and must be completely shaven for this. Tools needed include power tools, air tools, basic hand tools, with specialty tools provided by the company. Attire includes shop-appropriate clothing, steel toe boots (provided by the contractor), work pants, high-vis shirts (provided), and other PPE such as earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, and respirators (provided).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
