    Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - 40

     

    Summary of Position

     

    Responsible for the Installation, termination, and testing of copper cable and wire, and the testing of fiber optic cable required for the Central Texas College system.

     

    Minimum Required Education

     

    High School diploma or equivalent.

     

    Minimum Required Experience

     

    Two years experience installing, testing and terminating telephone and network cabling, connections and jacks to ANSI specifications inside and outside of buildings.

     

    Experience installing, splicing, and testing buried and aerial cable.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Ability to use a telephone test set, tone generator, voltmeter, punch tool, and wire wrap tool.

    + Ability to climb ladders, walks in attics, and crawl under buildings.

    + Ability to troubleshoot problems with network and telephone wiring and take correct action.

    + Ability to drive College owned vehicles and qualify for coverage under the Central Texas College commercial auto insurance policy.
