They are expected to have produced creative work, professional writing, or research and successful teaching or professional experience. A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the assistant professor level.

    Job Description:

    The Department of Physiological Sciences in the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Individuals who leverage AI for drug and therapeutic design may be welcomed up to the Associate Professor level. The ideal candidate will have an extramurally-funded, ONE Health research program and a passion for education. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and coordinate pharmacology courses for DVM professional students. The department offers a wealth of expertise in neuroscience, physiology, anatomy, and toxicology. Research programs focused on solving health issues that affect the quality of life of companion or food animals as well as humans would also well suited.

     

    The College of Veterinary Medicine is part of the University of Florida Health Science Center, which houses six health-related colleges (Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health & Health Professions, and Veterinary Medicine). It is the only health science center in the southeast and one of only three nationally, where all six health colleges are located on the same campus. The CVM has equally strong ties to the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. These alliances create opportunities for vibrant research collaborations, academic depth in Artificial Intelligence, and a robust human clinical enterprise, which has aided the UF Veterinary Hospital system in becoming a leader in veterinary medical care.     Expected Salary:

    Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

    Required Qualifications:

    The successful candidate is required to have a PhD in an appropriate/relevant scientific disciple.

    Preferred:

    Experience in 2-4 years post-doctoral research experience.

     

    Experience teaching in a pharmacological/molecular/physiological course.

     

    Successful record of grants submissions.
