    Stabil Drill is currently seeking a **Design Engineer** to join our team at our Thomas Road facility in **Houston, TX.** This position involves designing various mechanical components for new oilfield tools and products from concept through production.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Assist in the planning, design, and drafting of multiple engineering projects

    + Create conceptual layouts of new tools using Autocad and Inventor

    + Create 3D models and drawings using Inventor

    + Perform analytical verification of product designs

    + Coordinate the manufacture of prototypes

    + Assist with building and testing prototypes in assembly shop

    + Prepare routine reports and memos

    + Write maintenance manuals

    + Provide hands-on support with manufacturing and service facilities as needed

    Education/Experience:

    + BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering

    + 1+ years of work experience in mechanical design engineering

    + Excellent analytical skills; Able to calculate loads and stresses by hand

    + Professional documentation and communication skills

    + Oil and Gas downhole tool and mud motor design preferred

    + AutoCAD, Inventor, or FEA experience is a plus

    + MatLAB and Simulink experience is a plus

    + Rigsite and shop experience (prototype assembly and testing) are a plus
