SALARY: $22.55 an hour

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic II at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. This position will consist of complex semi-skilled maintenance duties, plumbing and carpentry repairs as well as other trade functions in and around the facility as directed by the Maintenance Department Supervisor . This position will adhere to CAL OSHA safety requirements, procedures , and Long Beach City & Building codes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : I nclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

+ Conducts plumbing and carpentry repairs as necessary

+ Checks facility doors and performs repairs as necessary

+ Provides b asic mechanical and maintenance repairs as necessary

+ Ability to perform paint and dry wall repairs (Including patching, sanding, and repainting)

+ Troubleshoots various maintenance problems around the facility and performs repairs as necessary

+ Ensures that all job assignments are c ompleted as instructed to 100% daily

+ Responsible for completion of assigned job unless released by supervisor

+ Responsible for keeping the maintenance shop clean and orderly , tools and equipment is stored properly

+ Notifies Supervisor if equipment needs repair or supplies are low

+ Follows facility dress code and grooming standards

+ Follows established safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment

+ Attends to and conforms to the policies established by SMG and the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center

+ Reports all damages to immediate supervisor, created or found, while performing daily responsibilities

+ Provide daily and maintain the following personal hand tools – List to be provided by Supervisor & is subject to changes and or additions

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications :

Education and/or Experience :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

2 or more years of general maintenance experience required

Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills and Abilities :

Good organization skills

Good oral, written and interpersonal skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions labels

Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.

Ability to work with little supervision and always maintain professional demeanor

Ability to work irregular hours, shifts that include nights, graveyard shift, weekends and holidays

Able to operate power and hand tools

Pass a (25 – 50 question) comprehensive test related to various maintenance tasks.

* Desirable experience in maintenance for Food & Beverage equipment.

Computer Skills :

Basic computer skills are required.

Operate signage and printing equipment

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :

Valid California Driver’s License

Fork & Boom Lift Operator Certifications . C an be certified on site through ASM after hired.
